The Creative Upholstery workshops are based in Wimborne, Dorset on the National Trust Estate of Kingston Lacy and offer tuition in both traditional and modern upholstery techniques.

Whether you are new to upholstery or have some experience, there are always new techniques to explore and learn. If you prefer to work with traditional materials such as horsehair, hessian and calico etc., or perhaps learn how to apply foams and polyester fibres, we offer experienced and qualified teaching in all these aspects of Upholstery – from the more simple drop-in seats for those new to the craft, to the challenge of a deep-buttoned Chesterfield sofa for the much more experienced!

Classes run for 6 weeks, offering 2½ hourly sessions per week.

The workshops are fully equipped with all the tools and materials you will require to make a start, and if you get ‘the bug’ you can purchase what you need from us without having to go shopping, although we do encourage people to source their own top fabrics and provide a large list of local suppliers.

'Creative Upholstery' prides itself on developing students' potential and expanding their creative ideas.  Anna has been teaching Upholstery for 10 years and running highly successful and enjoyable classes – which many students have been attending continuously for 4 or 5 years!

Come and join our small friendly groups in a wonderful creative environment and learn a new skill – give your favourite chair a new lease of life and learn how to apply your own designs and ideas to give your piece of furniture a ‘cutting edge’.
