Our Upholsery Workshop Location

Eckford Furniture design and Creative Upholstery workshops are set in the beautiful Dorset countryside just outside the market town of Wimborne Minster.  They are in the converted farm buildings on the National Trust Estate of Kingston Lacy and provide a perfect setting for traditional crafts such as Upholstery.  We have been running classes here for over fifteen years and have been delighted with the success, enthusiasm and feeling of satisfaction  they have created for the students of all ages and levels of experience.

The emphasis of the classes is to learn all aspects of Upholstery to a high standard in a fun and relaxed environment. All the work carried out in the workshops is of the highest quality, using most traditional techniques and materials.

Tools of the Trade

All the tools and materials you will need to start the courses are provided by us, but you may have some of your own you would like to bring along, such as: a small hammer, pliers, tape measure, sharp scissors, craft knife etc., and most importantly a digital camera or phone camera.  Cameras are an invaluable piece of kit for an upholsterer as they hold an instant and detailed account of the various stages and techniques that have to be practiced as your chair progresses.
